Mergo is an add-on for Google Sheets and Gmail that:

  • Connects to your Gmail to optain your draft and lets you choose the draft you want to use

  • Reads your Spreadsheet (email adresses, bookmarks)

  • Sends emails according to the spreadsheet data as a campaign

Some additional features can:

  • Connect to your Google Drive in order to insert Attachment to your emails

  • Retrieve your Contact contact list

  • Provide reports about your email campaigns (emails opened, emails responded...)

This add-on tightly integrated with your Google account and the data stored in said account. When installing an add-on, you will be prompted to authorize different accesses to your Google account. Those authorizations will only be used to perform the service you are requesting from the add-on you have installed.

Add-ons are created and powered by Google Apps Script, on Google servers.

Information gathered by an add-on will never be sold or shared to external people. When we need to store data outside of your Google account, we use a Google service for that: Firebase. Your data never leaves Google servers. We are only storing data in Firebase when needed to provide the service offered by the add-on. Most data collected by our add-ons are directly processed within Google Apps Script and are not saved in any database for later reuse.

Our App's use of information received, and App's transfer of information to any other app received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API User Data Policy, including the Limited Use Requirements."

User Account Deletion

By using Mergo, we only access data that is absolutely necessary for the add-on to run correctly. If you wish to stop using our service, simply follow the steps below to uninstall Mergo from your Google account:

  1. Go to the G Suite Marketplace Manage apps page

  2. Next to Mergo, click the menu icon

  3. From the drop down menu, click Uninstall

Uninstalling Mergo will interrupt all the add-on's functionality and activities on your Google account.

However, there is no automatic deletion of your user data from Firebase. To get your data from Firebase deleted, please send your request to mergo.app@gmail.com and we will proceed to the deletion within 30 days.

Data Classification Policy

When you install Mergo on your Google account, you are asked to accept the following authorizations:

Why does Mergo need access to those scopes?

Gmail access:

  • To retrieve your Gmail draft as the email template you'll use to send your mail merge with Mergo

  • To update the response rate / tracking stats by checking your inbox if recipients replied to your emails

Drive access:

  • To access your Google Sheets and perform all the basic options from Mergo (writing in your spreadsheet)

  • To access your Drive Files so you can send a mail merge with attachments

Google Contacts:

  • To import your contacts from Google Contacts

External service:

  • To get access to Firebase, the real-time database from Google

Third-party web content in prompts and sidebars:

  • To open Mergo as a sidebar from your Google spreadsheet

Besides, all sensitive data such as your recipients' email addresses and your email content remain under your control, within your Google account, Google Sheets, Gmail, and Google Contacts.

Data we store:

  • Your Google account, to identify you as a Mergo user

  • Your email tracking data: We only store the numbers of emails sent, opens, clicks, replies, bounces, so you can have access to your campaigns stats in Mergo.

Data we do NOT store:

  • Your contacts from Google Contacts

  • Your Gmail draft's content, emails received, and any other email content: All your emails stay in your Gmail box and you are the only one having access to your mailbox. We only access your draft so you can send your mail merge with Mergo, and the emails you received to track responses on your spreadsheet. We don't store any of your emails content in an external database.

  • Your Google Sheets' data: We don't make any copies of your spreadsheet data or store information on your recipients (email addresses, names, phone numbers etc.) on any database. Your spreadsheet data stays in your Google Sheets that solely belongs to you.
